Okay we are deciding on a duck breed. so far the ones i think might work are Buffs, Cayugas, Blue Swedish and Anconas. We already have muscovies but we'd like another type as well. The qualities we need in the duck are

* Quiet - we live in a neighborhood where neighbors would complain about noisy ducks. That's why we love our scovies

* Flightless - We obviously don't want them flying away

* Friendly - I crossed the runners off my list since they are quite skiddish. They need to be friendly or people and other animals.

* Don't need many other ducks - we would probably get only 2 or 3 of these ducks.

These will be pets on food. And we are not worried about the eggs. We don't need many or few.

Just list bellow which duck you think is good and why through your experiences or what you know.

thanks =D

well i have the Muscovy and i do have buffs they tick almost all the boxes BUT they are not quiet especially up against the scovies. I hear/read Cayuga are but no personal experience.

I have Cayugas. They are great and the males are quieter than the females,but the females have been laying great for me. They just started a week or two ago, and scince then I have gotten quite a few eggs from them. One even layed 2 in one day. They are pretty friendly, especially if you are bringing them water (mine start quacking before I'm even done putting my shoes on). They also don't fly, however I have clipped their wings. Its more of a preference thing. Good Luck!!!!
