Bugs climbing on my chicken run.

New to chicken raising. I’ve had my girls for 4 months now. We built our coop and run on our own and it wasn’t existing. Noticed today these little bugs climbing all over the wood of the run. Any idea what these are and if the way are dangerous to my hens?

Looks like ticks

They kinda look like ticks, but how big are they?
Need something in pic for scale.
Oh, if that's 1/2" hardware cloth on the left of the first pic,
I would say way too big for a tick.

Probably about the size of a long grain of rice. It’s 1/4” hardware cloth, and I’ll add another picture for size.

I’m located in the Southern California mountains. About 7,000 ft elevation. Usually we don’t even get ticks in our dogs and things up here but sometimes do in the summer if they are out running through the forest. Which made me think these may be aphids? Battling a fire and smoke near us right and don’t know if that would change anything. Temps are starting to cool here in the evenings (mid 70s in the day and down into the 50s at night).
