Bugs in my coop. Please help!

I am in Florida and went to change the bedding out in my coop a week ago and noticed hundreds of tiny bugs in the nesting boxes. Since the recent rain got some of the bedding wet I took all of it out and decided to let the boxes dry out, that is when I discovered the bugs. I put the old bedding in a garbage can and noticed 3 days later the bugs multiplied by the thousands. I still see some in the nesting boxes and not sure what to do or what they are.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them and how to keep them away. Are my birds going to be ok and do they need to be treated. If it matters, I have 4 hens and all have pretty much stopped laying eggs. I wasn't sure if that was from the heat or because they haven't had bedding for a few days while waiting for the boxes to dry out.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I suspect you might have roost mites. You might want to check out this link.
