i'm in serious need of help!!

i have about 12 chickens, 11 hens and 1 big rooster
they all have some kind of bugs on their faces
these bugs latch on like ticks but are small and black and look like fleas
they don't get on any other part of them except their faces and combs
how do i KILL these things?
they harder to kill then a tank and faster then a rocket when they jump.
i have tryed 7dust and sprays..a friend told me to try DE
will that work??
any other ideas or advise will be welcome too

that wont help because they arent under their winds or near the vent they are only on the face of the birds

Ok. The frontline that goes on the back of the neck for a dog or a cat will not work. It is the wrong product. You need to buy a spray bottle of frontline and spray your birds. It will work. It is the best available product for parasites on chickens bar none. It sounds like fleas if they are difficult to crush and move fast. Please try the spray. The spray works the other stuff in the little tube will not work on chickens.

okay i will try that:)
they not fleas tho, i cant get them off the poor chickens with out a set of
needle nose pliers to pull them off like a tick,
i think they some kind of mite....
thank you for help:)

Years ago when I was grooming dogs I seems to remember a dog coming in, it was a farm dog and he had these weird mite/tick/flea looking things. They were only on the end of his ears. His ears were covered.

They were black about the size of a small pin head (sewing pic) I could see no legs but they embedded in like a tick but didnt look like a tick. Had a mobile vet there that day and he had never seen anything like it either. The fact that they were only on the tips of the ears was confusing.

I dont think we found anything to kill them and had to remove them by hand with a comb and tweezers

Dont know if it sounds like what you have and I dont really have any answers but hope you find something. Try the spray like the other poster suggested
