How old do my baby bobwhites have to be before I can feed them bugs? They are currently about 3-4 weeks old. Is this old enough?

Really? They like those? I'll give them that then!!

we give ours live and freeze dried mealworms
they will eat both but I like the live, gives them something to do

actually this morning I picked up 100 crickets for them to hunt
second time for crickets and they went crazy hunting them down

Not sure about Bobwhites, but I have button quail that I start feeding dried blood worms and live small crickets to as early as 2 weeks of age. The courageous ones will immediately chase down the crickets and gobble them up, while the more timid ones will run away in fear of an insect hopping around in the brooder. Kind of entertaining to watch. I don't know what it is about the blood worms, but they go crazy when they see the shaker coming to sprinkle these into the food dish.
