I need some advice. I want to built our first coop house for 3 chicks but we live in a cold country(quebec, Canada) where getting temperatures of -20 celius for over a week is pretty common in January and February. As such I'm really unsure how to best protect the chicken during the winter months. Are there any coop plans taking isolation into account that I could use as a base? Material to use or to avoid? What about heating, are IR lamp enough? Any pointers would be appreciated.
The last thing I want is chickens that suffered from cold because we didn't build something that was good enough. Thanks!
