I have been away for a few years. I had a barnyard mix of about 25-30 hens and few Roosters and then hatched out about 100 chicks and sold about half. Lost the coop in a fire and moved twice. I now live in town and can't take it. I miss the farm, the country and my chickens so bad. So...I collected a pile of pallets, I will share a pic soon. I picked one, that had a plywood top and covered it with some roofing paper. I will add picks as I make progress. I am planning on a 48 x 39 coop (my pallet size) for 4-5 hens.

I used some plywood and osb to make a brooder box

scraps don't always look nice and I will have to patch that hole soon

plenty of room inside that box, might have to make it smaller?

The black paper area outside the box will be an herb garden later this spring

So am soon picking 4-5 chicks, I want a light brahma and at least one Easter egger. Don't think I want any sex-link, but I do want brown eggs. What other breeds should I get?
