Hi all,
I am finally building a webpage for my petsitting business and I am registering my www. shortly.
as soon as i know the answers below!!!
My prepaid dial up ISP provides 5MB web space
Will that be sufficient for me?
Do I need to do anything else?.
I have "front page" for tools and nice photos.
I just want a one or 2 page site with info and prices for my customers.
I am confident that i can put it together but just need the basics.
If my ISP provides 5MB does that mean they are hosting it??
sorry to have to ask this???
thanks for any info! I want to get started today!

yes that means they are hosting it. Have you thought of using dreamweaver for your web page ? You can download a free copy from adobe and it comes with tons of really great templates. You can make a really nice web page without knowing anything about building web pages. I also mention this because Front Page is infamous for adding tons of extra code to a page. Some of which can not be read by different browsers.

Also this service offers free we hosting and they have templates for building pages. You just have to deal with some adds.

good luck.

bantymum,

5 MB is on the small size, but for 2 pages and not too many pictures it probably will work.

You also might want to consider what you will need down the road. Are you going to add a shopping cart? Are there restrictions on the amount of traffic?

This link has a comparison of some web hosting companies, but is by no means complete. There are lots of options, depending on what you want to pay and what capabilites you need.

You could start small and move to a new hosting environment as your needs change.

I hope this helps. There are a lot of things to consider.
