I picked up some empty icing bucket from the Wal-Mart bakery today. (Best part? They were free!) So know I'm ready to get to "building". I'm going to keep them fairly low to the ground. I plan on cutting the lid in half, kinda like this:

Does anyone who has done this before (or not) have advice for me to keep in mind? I'd rather not overlook anything.

I did the same but didn't cut lid in half I just put a piece of board in front of each bucket for a lip of sorts drilled holes through wood and bucket then zip tied them on

A roost just in front of the row of buckets would be a good Idea. Put them closer to the ground then the sleeping roosts.

Thanks Guys. :) I got them finished and set up. They have a roost in front of them. I put duct tape over the sharp plastic edge the saw left. They aren't gorgeous or anything, but they are functional. (They're a lot better than their previous nesting boxes. They were set up on saw horses... =P) Thanks again for the ideas.
