Hey everyone! I am brand, spankin' new. I've been reading everything you all posted, which has been a bit overwhelming. Information overload is happening. I'm in need of some assistance. FYI, I'm not only new to this forum. I'm also new to chickens. Bear with me!

I've created the below image. I hope it is helpful. I am also the owner of the two fence sides. I have seen this question come up quite a bit. The entire area is shaded for most of the day. Only a small area (east of the shed) gets sun.

I'm trying to figure out where to place the coop best. I would prefer to have it against the shed and off the ground. This would then give the 3 chickens plenty of room to roam around in the rest of the area. I will enclose it from the sides and top with proper 1/2" welded wire. I could extend the chicken area to roam more into the south because they are just my flower beds.

Any thoughts or recommendations? Thank you for your time!

We did a similar setup but used a tunnel to have access to our outside run (less secure and only for daytime).

One of the big problems with building against an existing fence or building is that it reduces/eliminates access to maintain both the coop and the fence/building.
Another is that it's hard to predator proof against dig-ins the the other side of the fence, especially if that area is not your property.

We buried chicken wire before fence went up plus we live in town. No predators just feral cats.

I like that setup @Happy hen lover . I plan to add a water collection system with the storage underground and a solar 12v system for pressurized water for the chicken's and garden. I just need to stop procrastinating.
I've since changed out water to be stand alone. Too many pine needles to skank up the water! But solar is a great idea, I have electricity do I can use tank heater
