building interior nesting boxes

Building my first chicken coop. We are going with interior nesting boxes with exterior hatch. To frame this out do I need to use a larger beam as a header?
Depends on how much wall and roof is above...and how big the opening is...and how you will construct the nests.

They are going on an 8 x 8 wall. Opening is 4 x 1. 18 inches off the ground, center of the wall

Will it be on a load bearing wall or no? That makes the difference in the need for a header with king and jack studs.

Cur a round hole in the wall slightly bigger than the bottom of a black 5 gallon bucket. Cut 2/3 of the bottom off and jam that sucker through the previously cut opening bottom first with removable lid on the outside. Pop the lid off the bucket and collect the eggs.

I framed out (in 2 x 4s) the opening. I am going to slide the nesting boxes into that so they will rest on a 2x4 and be secured to 2x4s all the way around. This frame out is supported by other 2x4's running from the base
That should be fine.
