Building my chicken coop

I decided to build instead of buying as big coop are really expensive and with flimsy materials. My coop is 8x8 with a 18x8 run (including under the coop). I ordered 6 baby chicks, coming on April 20 and hatched 3 as a project with the kids. This is what we have so far.

Still haven't decided what to do eith the base to avoid predators, didn't want a cement floor.

Bury hardware cloth 1 foot deep around the entire thing or install a hardware cloth apron that extends outward from the bottom edge all the way around it.

Thank you, that sounds like a great idea! It would be hard now to bury the cloth, but the apron sounds great, thanks again!

Do the apron, grass will grow up throuh it and overtake it and you'll never know its there
