Building my coop and carpenter is confusing me about ventilation.

We have similarly sized coops. Mine is all chickens though.
I have an entire soffit open (with hardware cloth of course) My roof also has openings where the ridges are in the metal. I have 11 windows on my coop that are all functional. On the north side and south side they are more of a hatch since the "window" is not see through. To prevent the greenhouse effect the other windows are smoked lexan and the coop is under a huge shade tree.
Point of this post is to say simply make ventilation you can close off if needed. You can not have to much in the summer but winter can surprise with blowing snow.
I found in the winter that I needed to close off almost all of the soffit venting due to the wind blowing in rather briskly.
My roosts are 24 inches off the floor.

Only pics I have are when it was under construction.

This is the side with the open soffit. The underside has hardware cloth and was a pain to do. It runs the entire 14 feet long and is about 18 inches wide.
Project this summer is to make a way to close parts of it off as needed but that can be opened up easily.

This is after I just finished the north "window". You can see why I call it more of a hatch.

Make more vents than you will expect to need but make them closable so you don't have to use them if not needed is my advice.
