When you say minimum 1 ft from the ceiling for roosts,
Do you mean no taller than that or no shorter?
I was planning on using a 2x4 for a roost, about 4 ft high.

Do that setup, how would you cover the large openings in the winter?
As I'm assembling everything in my shed, I am noticing its
Awful dark in there. Nothing beats natural sunlight, but we're cold here
In southwest Ohio at least 5-6 mo out of the year.

I'm in Florida so I didn't give a lot of thought to cold weather other than maybe shutters or a storm window of some sort. My concern now is rain, I'll need some sort of awnings.
