I'm so excited...but nervous. Being the 'ol senior citizen that I am, and by myself, I need to find the courage to use my hand drill thingie to make the holes in my bucket for my new chicken waterer...eek!

I'm making a horizontal nipple waterer bucket...something like this one:

So after digging around looking for a 3/8" drill bit and discovering I didn't have that size, off to Ace Hardware! I asked the first guy in a red vest that I saw and explained what I was doing...well, sort of. Guess what? He's a chicken owner, too!! YAY!

So I showed him one of the nipples and we found the drill bit. But then he says "wow, I could sure use that setup, too!" So he gave me his email address and I'm sending him Rich's email addy so he can order a set! I think we talked "chickens" for almost 20 minutes!

Anyways, wish me luck...Lord knows I'll need it!

It turned out fine, looks just like the pic I posted, except mine has 5 nipples. "Tested" it overnight with water in it to make sure none of them were leakers and lucky for me they weren't! Haven't figured out just how to hang it, bought my chain and S-hooks, just have to figure it out. In the meantime I'm going to set it up on top of a big cinder block for now...no more daily filling of the waterer...YAY!!
