Building New Coop/Barn...Phase 5 Great Barn Build, OCCUPIED! 3/6/16

Pics
I think your DH may be right about the dog.

Depending on how wide your gutter is, a 5 gallon bucket lid or something similar might make a good "trowel" to set the curve of the drain.

Oh, good suggestion! We have one or two of those laying around, no problem. Thanks!

I put the SD card back in the game camera. If the dog comes back, maybe we'll see if it was one or two traveling together. I also caught this on the cam, the usual visiting holiday relatives of neighbors checking out the pasture (gotta get that fence back up soon)

And the pasture grasses are coming up! Guess the deluge encouraged them-you can see the green tint on the ground now. It's winter mix plus some tall fescue. I can just imagine the lush green meadow area in the spring.

Agrees dogs are same....or could be litter mates.
Ditto... people on motors more annoying than dogs.

5 gal lid good idea...and could be used to scrape/clear out any muddy debris down the road, especially if you put a handle on it.

Those people would annoy me more than the dogs.
They do, trust me. I have to listen to ATV's every holiday. That's why I would laugh if anyone complained about my roosters crowing.

Yup

They are similar sizes, certainly. One seemed to have a blackish muzzle and the other not, but it's hard to really see either plainly.

DH is in the LR feeding Finn tortilla chips. Crazy cat loves them. He also loves the smell of coffee and begs for ours. Not a chance, cat.

Operation: Mega-Gutter, Phase I complete. 14 bags of concrete mix later, we have this-still needs a bit of smoothing but it's in place and goes around the corner a tiny bit to the main rock wall side. We have one bag left but we ran out of steam. I hope either one of us can walk tomorrow. Not the best temps for curing but can't wait on spring. It has to be done now. It was quite nice and warm this afternoon but will dip to freezing tonight.

I'll have to fashion a little bridge across to the door because I sure as heck am not going to jump in and out of this barn every time.

If this doesn't fix the problem when it's done on all sides, I don't know what will.

WOW, that looks great!!

Cover it up with some plastic then straw and it'll stay damp and warm enough to cure pretty good.

X2 or plastic and old blankets, the ground is warm enough to keep it cooking

I mentioned to DH about the plastic. I don't have any straw right now, all out, but we certainly can find some plastic to use.
