Building New Coop/Barn...Phase 5 Great Barn Build, OCCUPIED! 3/6/16

They sound, well, somewhat unreliable. Hopefully they get it fixed without any further issues.

The problem is, I think, that they don't send someone specifically to repair something. They wait until their installation crews are in the area and can get by to check on your issue, but they are still mainly there to build something for someone else. That tells me that they will not have the right repair supplies with them if it entails new metal since they won't carry every color in the world with them. AND, mine has that insulation sheeting under the metal. They better not tear that up because we spent a pretty penny to have it done during construction rather than have my poor husband hang from the rafters to install it himself. They'd better bring a fresh roll with them if they must remove screws, which will leave holes in the bubblewrap insulation, compromising its effectiveness.

I'm curious how things are down there as well. DH talked to his uncle in Gainesville and I had to chime in to ask him if he stormed the grocery store for his milk and bread as they were showing 1-2" on the map for them. He laughed about that. I told him we had plenty of milk and bread here, but the grocery store was almost out of snowman noses. I bought the last bag of organic carrots, my only choice besides mini peeled carrots!

We're tidying everything up here. Looking at at least 12", maybe more like 24" before it is all said and done. Stay warm!!!

Your post reminded me of a funny Christmas card I gave to one of my friends this year. It showed Frosty The Snowman leaning over a bin of organic carrots in the grocery store and the caption was something like "Frosty caught picking his nose. "

We got a little over an inch, that's all. Now, it's melting and slushy and nasty, why I hate snow, the aftermath. And it's FOGGY! I can't see the woods behind our pasture, much less the surrounding mountains. Before the snow hit, it was raining ice pellets. Bad stuff expected through Saturday so I guess my barn roof repair is put off yet again, sigh.

Here are a couple of youtube I took when it was coming down. I remember living in Ohio, suckiest weather on the planet, -25*, plus ice, plus snow, ick. Utah and Colorado were better, just dry fluffy snow and lots of it.

Oh too funny!! We're doing OK. We got less than an inch yesterday, which made these curvy Virginia roads slick, so no school today for the boys. Having two growing boys at home… all they do is EAT EAT EAT. I barely get a moment to sit down and work!

Cyn, I hate it when our Mountains disappear, too. That's kinda why I came up with my name on here. It seems like our view is often misty in the spring and fall. The mountains are a good storm warning though. Any time the view disappears, better take cover!! Helps when you're working outside and need to know just how much time you have to clean up and get inside!

Being from WI, I know just what you mean about the yuck up north. The cold and ice that hung around forever, eventually turning brown and black from all the road sludge. Yucky! However, I do think… if it is going to be cold, it might as well snow!! The chickens are not going to be happy about this.

Funny, I didn't even hear it, I'm so used to it. Yes, that was Atlas. He's the only big guy I have here now. He's such a love, so like his grandpa Isaac in his personality sometimes. He's a keeper, that's for sure. The only thing is that I see no evidence that Lizzie's or Tessa's eggs are fertile. I'll have to check Wynette's to see if they are. I see him breed the girls, especially poor Gloria Jean, who he pounces on regularly and she is tiny compared to every other hen in that coop, including Tessa.

And as little as I like the cold, I will admit the snow is beautiful - we have been getting about 1-2" per day, and every day the snow is lovely new and white. Last night when I went to bed I could see the moonlight sparkling the big flakes on top of the blanket of white in the back yard.

The only part of it I like is at night, seeing it by the moon. It brightens up the night. I was watching my little solar lights near the new barn reflecting off the snow last night. A good portion of it is melted today.
