Can someone direct me to pictures of how I can do a covered chicken run outside of the chicken coop?? I don't even know what my options are, hehe :)

This is actually the extension of a run off the main coop and run...the girls needed a little more room. Mine is a simple rectangle, but what was tricky was obviously connecting the main coop/run to the extension.

SO we connected it with a tunnel! There is a red sliding door to the main coop that gets shut down every night.

I don't have pictures, but I just completed a covered outside run that measures 8' x 16' by 6' tall.

I built it by making a number of 2" x 4" frames measuring 4' wide (the width of my 1" square welded wire roll) by 6' tall with a cross piece of 2" x 4" running at the 3' level. The frames are built with the 2" x 4" laying flat so they stand on the wide edge of the board. I attached the welded wire to each frame prior to assembly.

Then, I placed the frames up one at a time and attached them to each other. Across the top, I put 8' 2" x 4" attached to where the frames met and these added stability and a place to attach the welded wire that I placed across the top to keep out climbing and flying predators. A 2' wide, 1/2" square welded wire buried skirt goes around the whole thing to keep out burrowing predators and a gate made into one of the frames allows access.

Using this method, I can expand or shrink the run at any time by adding or subtracting frames accordingly.
