Well our chickens are growing fast and we didn't have a coop so we thought it might be time to build one.

So far we have been working on it for 2 days, It's been so hot here so we have only been able to work early in the morning then stop at 10 have a break till around 3 then keep going untill darkish. so I think considering how hot it's been we have done alright.

Here's what we have done so far.

OHHHHHHH, I can hardly wait to see the progress! Those are some lucky chooks, to have such beautiful scenery, too! Gorgeous!

Where did you get your plans? Or, did you make the design yourself? What color is it gonna be?

Have fun! Hey, enjoy that nice weather ..... I'm cold! Brrrrrr ....

we made the plans ourselves but just a rough idea so we are sort of making it up as we go. It will be the same colour as our house but we don't excactly know what thats going to be yet so I think I will just pick a temporary colour untill then. hmm I wonder what colour.

yes we do live in a beautiful area. I just love it.

There is one thing I am worried about and that is the creek rising and flooding the coop.

The gate in the second ( and some others ) photo goes into our creek regeneration area and the creek is a few meters down ( sloping, not like a cliff ). the creek has come up that far before and I am worried for the chickens.

I'm not so good at the metric system!

Is 2.4 meters = 7.9 feet
and 2.6 meters = 8.5 feet
I know you probably know!

Be sure to keep us all updated on your progress!

Thanks for the conversion. It was too late for my brain to work properly.
