building paradise for the birds

oh boy glad thing i moved them...cause just got done watching the movie....and the credits start rolling and in the distance i hear chirp chirp....im like wait a minute i know that sound...got the flashlight out and looked in the hatcher and five already out....10pm...so by the time we wake up in the morning i bet there is a bunch...seems like the coolerbator hatches on time...and the gqf hatches a day early....i wonder what the reason is for that...probably that the gqf is more precise...who knows.....im going to start getting books and reading them to make me even more efficient...well got some impeyan eggs locked in this season...just spoke with the guy about it...cant complain at 10 an egg...he has four sets of not related birds so he is going to mark them and call on the fifth day...so i can pick them up...hes also giving me some silver golden eggs as well...man i cant wait...lost profit from a hydro tray loosing water this morning..and then get good news later that day...i guess there is always a brighter side...moral of the story for today...is dont focus on the bad...shun it out and keep yourself positive and things will get better...also seen some old school gqf cabinets today as well...and all i know is wow they sure came a long way...one of them was straight up osb board that had poly coat on it...very interesting gave me a great idea seeing them...going to take hardware cloth which i got a supplier now...and make little sections in the hatcher for each pen...1-11 will be marked on the egg, its placed onto the incubator and during lockdown goes into its separated spot in the hatcher...then they come out and get ziptied...once a week checking to make sure they arnt to tight and replaced when needed with the proper color zip tie....thanks randy for the website for that...it really is crazy how a day can go from bad to awesome right before you lay er down for the night...

well just moved 15 to the brooder....and theres a bunch left chirping

you can see the one with splayed leg so were going to have to fix it...the other bird with splayed leg is doing great...no more supports

im not sure if the paper towel is giving them the splayed legs...but on the next batch im going to use the kitchen grip stuff and paper towel underneath...still learning tho

Hope u get lots more!! Cant wait till we have chicks hatching!! 13 more days and I'll have my project babies

up to 28 now...i think when i emptied the hatcher out ...i think one shrink wraped...it was almost out...and then after it fluffed up in the shell....still learning...but many more to come...hopefully then for the byc hatch along...i am hatching 90....so well see how that goes..11pm and just moved a bunch over there...going to fix the splayed leg one right now....
