building paradise for the birds

Sometimes I hate going to the lumberyard. They ring you up and your like, where the f was I. But then once I'm home with project in sight and my birds gathered around to help, that feeling just washes away.

I trust things are moving along with the hoop coop. And all those baby chicks scurrying around in their brooder, I bet you catch yourself just standing there watching them play, maybe 10 minutes have passed maybe an hour, lol. put anyone of us in your shoes with that many chicks and I'm certain we would do the same. :)

morning everyone....so its snowing out like crazy here...and i just moved ten quail so far no whites....man they are tiny...so one hatched out of the shell and then fell back into the shell and couldnt get it off its head....was so funny...i looked into the hatcher and there was a egg on top of another egg...i was like how did this happen....and then all of a sudden the egg started to walk around...i thought i was seeing things but then got a better look and realized that the bird was just stuck....here are some pics

They are so cute~ I want to hatch some but I need to wait until I can free up some space. Too many chicks in the house. When I was little there was a cartoon character that was an egg with legs that walked around and talked...can't remember the name.

It's snowing here too. I was hoping to get some more work done on a coop. It's single digit. Not happening.

I just got done reading this entire monster of a thread, and all I can say is wow, amazing! We can only hope to accomplish a fraction of what you have once we finally get our land (if we ever get any land, I should say. At a mere 29 years old I'm a disabled Army veteran, so my husbands job pays for a family of 5 as well as everything for our goats, so saving up looks hopeless some days).

Good luck on the quail hatch! I hope you start seeing some of your A&M whites start popping out any minute :D
