building paradise for the birds

man I wish I could plant bamboo...so not fair...it would look great...im not sure what I would like to plant for them in there...we have a very cold winter and most things wont survive...any ideas anyone....... im looking right at you guys waiting for an answer.....or a treat.....lol
Your dogs are very funny

I know of 2 solutions for the rats.  I don't know why, but rats steer clear of guinea pigs.  You can keep them right with the birds; they'll get along.  They just need greens or alfalfa pellets.  They'll eat some feed.  The other thing is that they primarily come to the coop for the feed.  Feed your birds fermented feed and they'll go away!  They don't like it fermented.  Cool, huh?:weee

Thanks, beverly. I heard about guinea pig solution before but haven't tried yet.Maybe I can try this. And about the second solution, how I can ferment the feed? I usually put some probiotics in the chickens' feed to keep them from illness. But how to ferment the feed, any idea?

good idea blackberries have big thorns and raspberries have little ones....ill just feed it to the birds...hahha..outside I go..wish me luck...only ten degrees here...brr
I tried feeding raspberry leaves to my chooks and they wouldn't eat them......even the leaves are prickly. They'd eat the few berries I let them have tho.

Cute dogs, Birdman. Are they half pit? They have nice ears, not the silly stand away ones my pits have? Nandina ia a weed bush that is invasive and doesn't require watering once established. They have red berries that aren't poisonous as far as I know. There are any number of plants like that, that they still sell in nurseries even though the gov. asks not to. : )
