Happy Father's day to my dad in calfornia, birdman55's dad in Wisconsin, and all the father's out there. It's been crazy hectic here on the farm. With the nice hot weather we are having in Michigan i almost, almost, missed the cold weather. Cleaned out the hoop coop and finally had our first batch of svart hanas out to enjoy life outdoors. More babies in the hatcher, chickens and phesants. The two peaches i hatched didn't make it a week and the two peach eggs i put into the hatcher didn't hatch.

there are four peaches in the hatcher as of yesterday so hoping for something. Going to be moving birds around today but I'm going to wait since it's the hottest part of the day right now. I'll be posting more pictures soon.

12 svart hanas and 1 California hmong. We had two cemani but they were given to a long time family friend.

Time sure flies by, moved the month olds out into the garage and you can tell the difference between the two breeds the cemani are way smaller then the hanas. Couldn't take a picture of them both together but hopefully you all can tell the difference.

On a side note a peach has hatched out hoping there is another one to go alone with it, i think im going to keep them separated from the rest until they get stronger.

Definitely can tell the size difference with your hand as reference.
The smaller one appears to have less feathering on breast?
Wonders too about comb size......if larger might be a cockerel?

I was wondering about that too. There are three cemani in this batch and two are small like this but the other one might be a roo because it's a little bigger but still smaller then the hanas. Our cemani hens are on the smaller size though, our roo is twice as big. I'll have to take a picture and post on here.

Thanks so much for the last batch of eggs. Only one didn't make it into the bator, a few detached aircells and some wonkys but I'm still hopeful.

The first 3 are growing out nicely, I'll try and get some pictures soon.

Hey fellow bird enthusiasts it has been awhile but the farm is going great, there's been quite the heat wave here in in the last couple days. I've just hatched my last batch of phesant eggs this season. 6 lady Amherst and 2 peaches. Along with 10 svart hanas and 3 hmong chickens. One of my hana hens, hatched four chicks and i decided to let her raise them. It was a wonderful two weeks but as they began to venture outside one was nipped by our male dog, and the another hens started attcking the chicks, killing one, i really had no choice but to move the last two inside. Currently both cemani hens ate sitting on 10 eggs, my hmong hen is sitting on a couple eggs and another hana hen is sitting on eggs. I've decided to let mother nature do its work. so the incubator is currently off. Moved the second batch of chickens out into the hoop coop and they are loving it. Birdman is doing fine, half way done and soon to be back, time sure is flying by.

Can you guess which one is a peach and which one is a yellow golden???
