Hey all! I posted back in February about plans to build a 10x10 coop for a place to brood chicks, grow out, and other miscellaneous projects. It took a while for the plan to come to fruition, but we're finally getting there. We still have a lot to do but here's some progress pictures

These are the two platforms we started with for the base. My husband brought them home from work a couple years ago with the idea to make this building but we never got around to it...

We placed them on leveled cinder blocks and fastened together.

Walls framed and ready to go (lean to style, 7' in the back and 8' in the front.)

Then we put down ashesive and rolled out some remnant linoleum from lowes

After that we cut the excess linoleum and started attaching the side walls. (Featuring our little helpers)

Then front and back..

Then the roofing boards went up!

Here's current pictures! Siding and roof went up today and we cut out the opening for the door. We still have to add the door, paint, cut out the windows and install those, and make a ramp, then we can start working on the functional interior projects (electricity, dividing walls, coop doors, etc.

(Awkward panoramic picture but you get the idea) there will be a dividing wall straight through the middle lined with chicken wire. The right side will be for growing out and the left side for brooders.

This is the east facing wall (the brooder side) that we will be putting old windows in, and adding shelves to start vegetable seeds.

I'll update with more pictures as we continue the process! It'll have to be soon because....

It’s looking amazing!

Well, plans got flipped around! The chicks ended up going to the quarantine pen out in the main chicken shed. I got a message from the breeder we were on the wait list to get blue slate turkeys from that they were ready and I didn't expect them this soon 😂 so we hurried up and got the place habitable!

I guess we'll be working around them installing windows and the other interior aspects. They'll be moved to the main shed in a few months, I'm still trying to figure out how to augment that set up to keep them separate from the chickens!

Fun! Why are you trying to keep the turkeys and chickens separated?
