We are building our first coop. We are using the stromberg plates. It is going up beautifully. My husband designed the coop to go together with the plates. We have placed it in the front pasture with the goats as it is the only pasture we have fenced in as of yet.

Nothing says chickens more than a geometric shape.. I must say, never seen this system used on coops before... Large greenhouses and sheds, sure.. But not coops.

Nice work..

My husband told me to write you back to say that we chose this method because our chickens lay geodesic shaped eggs : )

But seriously he made his design size and choice based on how he could get 3 perfectly sized equilateral triangles out of one sheet of plywood. Then he fit those triangles in using his CAD software. That decided what size frame he needed.

It's got a 5 1/2 foot peak. Big enough for little 5' 2" me.
