Built this new coop myself and i’m so proud! It was time for a whole new one and moved to a new area, and quarantine was a good time to get it all done. It’ll fit my 12 hens and 1 roo. They free range during the day when I am home and on the premises (which I almost always am), and if I am not home they have their 12x12 run. I live in pretty deep into the country, and every predator you can name has tried to get at the chickens. To any new chicken people, i’d recommend building your own coop. There are useful links to help building plans, and though it may sound expensive at first thought- it is worth it. Their coop is predator proof and durable, and store bought coops will need supplemental materials and wear/tear faster and waste money IMO.

Nice!
Pics of inside, please, and how it attaches to run?

Welcome to BYC! @Tytsofie
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

These were pictures I had taken on the last day of building. I have always like vinyl floors at the bottom of the coop, it makes cleaning shavings/straw/etc out very easy and I can clean it down good. It connects to the coop with a 10 inch “tunnel” I built out of 2x3s. (Nesting boxes were blocked off in these photos because I didn’t want to get any mess in their nesting boxes and I didn’t want them climbing in before construction was finished).
