Another mystery. Our 9 month old pullet Angel developed sudden lethargy, very severe.
We thought at first it was cocci, because we had a hen die of what we were very sure was cocci, a month or so ago. But the pullet has no bloody diarhea, no diarhea at all. She will not eat, and is very weak. Her eyes are bulging and slightly watery, but there is no discharge, and they are open. I don't see any respiratory distress signs, or nasal discharge. She is slightly underweight, but she is a small nervous bird anyway. The bulging eyes scare me. We are trying to treat her with Amprol in the water, and have moistened her food with it, are trying to tempt her with special food. If she is not eating by morning we will try to tube her, but I am not sure if we should be treating her with something else? Of course we have her isolated. Chicken Doctor is gone for several days, I can't reach him. Help!! jAny suggestions?
