A month and a half ago, one of our hens was attacked by a wild dog. She had a deep claw mark in her back and was lying on the floor shaking. We have given her an antibiotic spray that kills germs for reducing the risk of infection. 3 weeks from that and she was doing fine, she was in a separate pen but could still see the other hens in the flock. She started to grow feathers back on the wound area and the wound was healing just fine so I put her back in. She was doing fine, she just slept a lot standing up in the middle of the day, but I assumed that it was part of the healing process. The other day I went to their coop to see her laying on the ground shivering. I think it’s because the other chickens were pecking at her but I didn’t watch it happen. She now is in a kennel with food and water. The only thing I’m worried about is that she can’t walk. If anyone had any ideas it would be much appreciated.

She hasn’t pooped from the time I took her in and the temperature is high 80’s with humidity the injury is mostly healed but where it was at is the top part of the open feathers

I’m also fearing she’s developing stargazing, not wry neck. One of the other chickens that were injured but died developed wry neck, couldn’t walk, wouldn’t eat and died

Can you do a soft scramble and see if you can get a few curds into her beak? I had to force feed mine when they are sick, they got better faster.

Don't forget the b complex, you can get it at any pharmacy, target, Wal Mart. If you're going to TSC, pick up some black soldier larvae too. Those are easy to pop into her beak.
