The mother hen to a 3 females and one rooster is now getting bullied by that (adult) rooster. The behavior seems very odd - she will crouch near him, bow her head down and he pecks and tears at the back of her neck! He doesn’t mount her, just pecks her from the side or front. She has a huge wound there now, is acting pretty skittish. Not sure why she hangs around him or why he keeps doing this when they have free range to roam. I have been spraying blu-kote on it.

Any rooster that purposely injures one of my hens is quickly turned into soup.
Lots of nice roosters to be had. No reason to keep a bad actor.
If you need to separate somebody, put him in a time out. Not your hen unless she is now so injured the other hens may start picking at her.
Her crouching may be to signify her willingness to me mated and his response is dislike and violence twords her.
