Hi guys, I have 3 red hens and 3 bantams. My smallest bantam gets picked on a lot by the rooster and 1 big red and is now getting injured. She is really miserable. She now doesn't follow flock and spends time on her own. I didn't want to separate her as then wouldn't be able to integrate her back in. She comes into house with us a bit during day buy we cant let her live there all the time and I dont want her being lonely. The rest get along fine without her. Really worried ☹ ps. They free range all day and have a big shed, run and another coop at night so plenty of space. Also why I havent separated the others as they wouldn't be able to see or hear flock during day. Please help!

Is he picking on her or trying to breed with her? as for the hen get some chicken blinders I forget the name they have been given but they are handy 2 of my girls still have theirs on the rest behave now. is there a way you could have a small bantam coop and free range run specially for them so she does not need to be separated if they keep picking on her more then just a pecking order thing?

Hi, thanks. He is trying to breed but is much tougher with her than the others and she is actually losing bits of her comb and loads of feathers. When I let them out this morning her eye was badly swollen so I think shes been pecked in her eye. I could keep her in a large coop but they all range round our property which is quite big so she wouldn't see any of them until they go back to roost. The other bantams are the rooster and a hen. The other wee bantam has no problems and handles herself well with the bigger birds. I will try the blinders and hopefully that will help.
