One of my barred rocks has suddenly turned into a total bully. She is approx 12 weeks, everyone in the flock is 12 weeks, and have all grown up together and there have never been any problems before now.

She has always been on the bottom of the pecking order but now everyone is afraid of her! She's pecked one of my RIR's combs so that it was insanely swollen and had scabs, pecked one of my EEs RIGHT NEXT TO HER EYE (now that is a swollen scab), and pecked my light brown leghorn on the nose and face (also scabs now).

Everyone in my flock now look like I take horrific care of them, but it's really this bully! They have enough square footage, they have access to dirt, plenty of water, and food.

I was doing research on breaking a bully and came across pinless peepers. Has anyone used these before successfully? Do you think it would work on my little bully?

I don't have another place for her to be isolated away from the flock at this point in time. She's currently locked up in a large rabbit hutch (with food and water of course) but it's inside the pen.

4 of my hens (2 leghorns & 2 Wyandottes) are wearing pinless peepers for over 2 months now. I got 10 hens, over a year old and they all grew up w/o any problems until few months ago pecking on couple of them to the point of bleeding. I was frustrated almost culled the bullies when I decided to put pinless peepers. The flock are much happier & back to normal. The first day they were not happy w/ the peepers, skipped laying eggs, they couldn't see their food and water but they adjusted to it. I got mine from Amazon for $11/doz US made, came with the tool to put it on. Works great.
