I've got a silkie with an 8 week old she raised after going broody. They are together with 5 standards. A couple of them chase the silkie around sometimes, and the young one seems afraid of them. There isn't any pecking, and for the most part it's not a huge problem, but I hate to see it and don't want it to escalate to something that is!
Is there something I can do? Is this a case of pecking order they have to work out without my getting involved?

Keep an eye on it. If it becomes a huge problem or one gets really hurt, then you may need to seperate. Until then watch closely. Good luck

Thanks. I should mention, thier run is 12'x6' with a 4' x6' coop attached. They free range daily. I wonder if it could do any good to try a little disipline when I see it. Say a well aimed super soaker?!

Can we train chickens not to bully?!!

My chickens are afraid of a squirt gun, but it doesn't work for long. Somebody earlier today posted that they put baffles/items in the yard so the picked on one could kind of hide behind them.
