Other day I came out and my Leghorn hen was with her tucked in a space between two bins, and thought my 6 month cock/roo, was trying to mate and she was trying to evade him. I pull him off and pick my hen up. Her head was covered in blood. I think later that day, or day after I came back out to check on her and she jumped onto me so I held her for a little bit and put her in a dog crate. I have been keeping an eye on the situation and noticed my Roo will grab her by the feathers and kick her. I also noticed that my BCMS hen always takes a strike at her if she gets a chance to.
My curiosity is as to why the aggressive behavior from both my roo and BCMS at the same time towards my Leghorn.
I don’t think the roo has ever successfully mater with my leghorn and my BCMS was the dominant one until the roo came along. I also notice the BCMS do the dance in front of the dog crate.
will this behavior eventually pass?
