One of our 'teenage' pullets survived a dog attack a couple of days ago. She was very spooked and I am surprised she survived given how scared she looked. But now it appears the only issue is with one of her legs. We can't even tell which one. She has been in a laundry basket and has been eating and drinking well, not moving around much although she can turn herself around. I can't see any sign of injury, and when we feel her feet/legs, there isn't anything unusual and she doesn't seem at all uncomfortable when we are doing it. But she definitely can;t hold herself up on her own. What's the prognosis? Will she heal if we keep her quiet long enough?

hi I wish you the best and say give it a try. I've read of miraculous recoveries here on this forum! all you can do is try and see if she regains her strength. she might surprise you and bounce back with time. keep nursing her and wait and see. I can't say for sure but chickens can be really resilient and can heal from some pretty severe injuries. so I'd give it a try and see how she responds. I wish you the best. keep us posted.
