So my duck has bumble foot and this is what i have done so far...
My mother is a nurse so she helped me do a couple of things to treat this. We did not want to do a full surgery so this is what we did:
we cut the scab off and now i see a circular white hard thing in her foot. It will not come out.
I have been soaking her foot and trying to see if that would come out.
We injected the circular white thing with ointment to see if it would help the infection.
Wrapped her foot and sent her back outside.
We just did the injection today
She is panting like crazy and there is water by her constantly.
Is that normal? Is she just scared from the cutting and injection?
Just want to make sure she is ok.

well i have no where to put her inside so i put her in a play pen in our shed. I put down clean sand and i have a thing she can lay in with clean bedding. She also has water and food. Can i give her anything for the pain? Is it ok if i leave her outside how i explained she was? i think it is pretty clean and i have been cleaning her wound and wrapping it everytime.

There are many ways to do things right. I wanted to mention some of my concerns - - - I have seen things go wrong too often, I guess, from reading the forum posts.

Anyway, here is what hennible's vet said, with some notes from me about pain meds.

A note on pain killers for ducks. Straight from the vets mouth, ducks can have Advil.
For ducks 6-8 lbs 25-40mg twice daily adult tablets cut up or children's liquid Advil 1.5ml twice daily, orally.

Amiga’s arithmetic – 8 pounds 40 mg is 5 mg per pound
6 pounds 25 mg, is just over 4 mg per pound

so, 4 to 5 mg per pound of duck
