Hi,

I have an egger who has a bumble on top of her foot. It's kind of between toes but not much. I've had one other bird have a bumble but it was on her pad and made her limp. This bird walks fine but it looks gross and yellow and tight as if it might pop. I have been treating it topically but wonder if I can do more? Has anyone ever used those balloon shoes they have for dogs?? They stay on dogs feet very well. So i wondered how it would work for a chicken, leaving room to stretch toes and protection from dirt and keep ointment or a bandage on.
Thanks.

You may have to go ahead and treat the bumblefoot, to get the pus out. Most of the time bumble occurs on the foot pad or toe pads, but it can cause an abscess on top between the toes as seen in this good article:

Some try soaking the foot in warm Epsom salts for a couple days, but the surgery is the quickest way to get rid of an abscess.

Thank you. I'll start soaking her foot tomorrow. It looks like it's gotten bigger or is flattening out. I can't tell.
