Bumble foot starting..How to begin treatment???

I have a Cochin pullet who has on both feet in the same spot on each foot what appears to be a scab on each foot. I read about heavy breeds such as Cochin may have an easier time of getting bumble foot, so I have been checking her feet on a regular basis. I found these scabs today. They look almost black, and are oval shape smaller than a grain of rice maybe 1/2 the size for a grain of rice. She has no swelling no redness and no heat. She is walking normal. We plan on making adjustments to her roost this week end.
My question is: At this point should I remove the scap or just clean, medicate and wrap???

I had one hen with it that we treated and treated and treated and it never went away and another that I totally left alone and it went away on its own. I do believe that it has something to due with proper perches, ramps, etc. and eliminating any chance of them getting splinters. I switched from a wooden ramp to cinder blocks as steps and a natural tree limb for their perch and have not had any bumble since.
I know that removing the scab, putting non pain relieving neosporin on it and keeping the foot clean and dry helps. My vet had me soaking her foot in epsom salt too...

It took about a month, but my 14 year old treated our white rock for bumble foot and it eventually healed.

Remove the scab, squeeze out any pus, WASH, place Neosporin ointment, then put a mixture of iodine and sugar on a two X two piece of cotton gauze, then wrap with medical tape.

We checked out all of the roosts and there were a couple of spots where some nails (or staples) had come through and were protruding through the wood. We knocked those down and put duct tape over those spots.

Haven't had anymore problems with bumble foot.
