I have a new hen with Bumblefoot on both feet. One foot 3 scabs other 1 scab. It is not bothering her at all. I found it when I picked her up last week. I soaked feet in Epsom salt took black scabs off and it bleed. Some puss came out of one but not a lot. It was open but no chunks of anything came out. I’ve since been soaking feet every other day in Epsom and spray with theracyn poultry wound spray. I cover in Icthamol and wrap. Any other suggestions?

Welcome to BYC!
No other suggestions. Sounds like you are doing a great job.
Do you have any pictures of what the feet looked like when you first started treatment vs. now?

No I do not have pictures when it first started but tomorrow is a soak day. I will get a picture then.

Ok. Here is two pictures after soaking and treating for a week. It was really swollen.

I just got this bird 2 weeks ago. She is new to my flock. I have never had bumble foot in the 10 years I have had chickens. My roosts are smooth thick pieces of wood. Yes I have been soaking in epsom salt every other day took plug off. Squeezed some puss no chunks of infection and I use icthammol every other day and wrap.

Thanks you for the positive feed back. Any other suggestions? I am going to take weekly pictures to make sure it’s looking better.
