I have two plymouth rocks. I have a thread on my one who’s been having many problems one includes her toes curling not her nails her entire toe curls. (Nails are cut short). Took her to the vet and doctor said she’s healthy and fine possibly just her being lazy and spoiled. My entire flock is 4 turning 5 next March. Now my other Plymouth I just noticed the knuckle parts on her toes and bubbles up. There hard. She has been laying around a lot. I’ve seen her eat and drink but her crop is empty. She was pale in the face yesterday but I figured it might be the heat and today she seemed fine no paleness just layed down. The pictures are of her feet. But it’s only my plymouth rocks that are doing this no other breed in my flock is having problems. I got the PR (2) from Tractor supply when they were chicks. They both stopped laying. Could it just be old age?

Under her feet are fine. She’s eating and drinking but her you can barely feel anything in her crop. She is walking like that (in the video posted). What should I do? I was going to soak her in epson salt bath.

It is hard to see the feet and toes in the pine shavings. It looks like the middle toe has an enlarged joint where she may have broken it. There may be some scaly leg mites. In the video, she has a lowered tail and trouble walking. That could be from a reproductive disorder such as salpingitis or coelomitis/egg yolk peritonitis. Those are common in older hens that are no longer laying. Cancer also can be common. She might enjoy soaking her legs in warm Epsom salts water for about 15 minutes a day. I would use a plastic dishpan or sink for that. For scaly leg mites rub vaseline into and under the scales on her feet and legs.

Thank you!! Would it be okay to soak her her an hour before roosting time? And should I make some lower roosts her her?

Update: Her Face has been staying pale and her crop always feels empty but I have seen her eat and drink but most the day she is laying down. Is there anything I can do for her besides the soaks and Vaseline?

So the flock recently got mites and my sick plymouth was covered in them so after I treated everything I bathed everyone. My sick plymouth was bathed twice bc she still had the mites on her and after her bath she was the only one who didn’t want to walk after and layed in the towel. I put some treatment on her for the mites and she just sat in the run with the rest of the flock. When night came she still sat there and didn’t even try walking inside so I picked her up and placed her in the nesting box to sleep for the night and this morning she sadly passed away in her sleep. She has a lot of liquid that drained out either from her nose or beak. Did I stress her out too much? I had a slight feeling last night that soemthing was wrong.
