bumble foot?

last night we were banding all the chickens that are not for sale and i noticed that my buff has what looks like bumble foot. the pad of her foot is swollen and this morning she was holding it up. So what action should i take? i have heard that it could be a parisite in the foot and to put vasiline on it. Any help would be greatly appreacited! THANKS

Search for bumblefoot. You have to cut the foot open (just a tiny bit) to get the infection out. It is not a worm and vaseline won't work. Vaseline is for leg mites. You spread it on the legs kinda thick and it smothers the mites.
