I noticed my hen (about 5 or 6 years) limping and after quick inspection she had bumblefoot... they next day I treated it and I believe removed the kernal. however once i was looking at the soaked clean foot more I noticed a hard dark, oval growth on the bottom on the middle toe nail. It was stuck and seemed to be growing out of the base of the toe, she seemed to not like it much when I was tugging at it. Not thinking clearly I did not take a picture and I cut away at the hard nail like growth until it seemed to be "gone". I am figuring this along with bumblefoot was what was bothering her.

It was not on the skin. The source was from the base of the nail, almost the toe skin but not quite.
It almost seems like the other toe is getting growth as it seems to have a small bump on the bottom base of the toe.

Does anyone have any idea what this is? or have heard about it?
I cant seem to find anything and not sure right now what to do for her.
I can try and post a picture soon of the other nail if that would help.
Please and thank you in advance!

Here are some photos. they are great and I did put some blue kot on the nails yesterday because Ive heard its good for foot issues and just in case it was something fungal i figured it couldnt hurt?
The middle toe was the one with the "growth" that i trimmed off and the other smaller end toe is the one that kinda looks like its starting to have a small bulge (if im not just being paranoid).

I'm not sure what that could be. The Blu Kote won't hurt. You may also want to soak the feet in a warm epsom salts bath a couple of times a week to help with any swelling.

How is the Bumblefoot healing up?

I think the bumblefoot is healing well so far. here is a picture from the check up today (2 days later). there is no pus or dirt and only a tad bit of bleeding at first but its still all raw.
How will I know if its coming back vs a healing scab?
