Injectable penicillin is very thick, even worse when it is cold. You can draw it up into a syringe, then just holding your hand until it warms up, that takes a lot less time than waiting for the bottle to warm up. Make sure you shake it up really, really well. It helps if you use a large gauge needle to draw it up ( you can always change to a smaller gauge one for the injection).
She does look very punk - hope she recovers.
