My sweet girl here had a bout of bumblefoot exactly two years ago now At the time, I was able to remove the kernel, and she has been completely normal ever since besides her toe looking a bit distorted.

Recently, she has been avoiding pressure/limping on the same foot, and the same toe is very hard and swollen. I’ve been using Epsom salt soaks, Vetericyn, and wrapping it up with PRID, but there is no scab at all so I’m not sure what to do next.

I’m also concerned that the infection has spread up her leg because of the redness.

She is eating and acting normal, but she has not laid eggs in several months. She is 3.5 years old.

Thank you all for your help.

Look to see if the redness is also in the other leg. That is usually do to hormones and a sign of fertility. Could the thickness be due to arthritis in the joint? Do you see any small cut in the toe?
