Sorry for posting this here but I put it in the goose forum and did not get any responses. My gander is about 4 months old and I believe we are developing a case of bumblefoot. We've caught it very early, he's been limping for about three days and we found the spot last night. It's tiny, and not scabbed. I've read several methods of treatment and hope I don't have to go too extreme since it's so early. Metzer says amoxycillin may cure it if caught early, has anyone gone this route? And has anyone used a vet to treat the issue? For now I'm going to do the epsom salt/clear iodine/Neosporin/wrap it--route and hope it improves in a few days. I would appreciate any advice. He's our first goose and very loved. I don't want him in pain (and I certainly don't want to inflict it on him myself!), but I want him healthy. Thank you.
