I have a couple four month old Cayuga duck females. About a week ago I noticed one of them picking her up foot and when we held her she kept her foot curled up like it had been sprained. She’s stopped the curling, but not the limping and swelling hasn’t gone down. Doesn’t appear to be getting worse, but there is noticeable swelling in her ankle. There are no scabs or cuts we can find so we haven’t treated for bumblefoot yet. Question is: Can bumble foot present without any cuts or visible damage? also I should note, her foot itself does not appear to have any swelling.

I have chickens, one had swelling around her ankle and very thick skin on her leg foot and toes. At the time she also had a sticky bottom and stopped laying. I soaked her in a mix of Epsom salts cider vinegar and a natural soap made from oils, I then wiped her legs and toes with vinegar & water before rubbing them in oil. Her leg and bottom was back to normal in no time and thanks to a little guidance in here she started laying again. I think the oil suffocated the infection after repeating the process for a few days then the scales just fell off.
