Can I ask you why you are cutting the feed with oats?

The duck feed is a complete diet...when you cut it with something you are taking away from the complete balance diet which includes much need vitamins and minerals.

My daughter read that the amount of protein in the duck starter was too high for the ducks after 4 weeks of age and saw that it said to mix in oats to lower the overall protein.

looks "normal" underneath - no scab, sore or anything

This looks like a sore spot.
Is it causing the limp or is it a result of the limp.
It does look swollen there too.

Can you feel any hardness in that area? like bumble presents itself like a hard core. that has to come out. If it is bumble. That will make them limp because it hurts to walk on.

There are hard lumps, however, there is no scab or any opening into her foot where the lumps are present.
