Bumblefoot is caused by bruising to the feet. Usually in large chickens. Flying or jumping off the roost will cause Bumblefoot. Make sure their roost is low so they don't have to hit the ground or pen floor hard when they come off the roost in the morning. Move all debri from the pen (sticks, rocks or any objects they could land on). Hay or soft soil is best in coops or pens. Be sure and clean your coops and pens regular.Roost built just a little higher than the chickens highest feathers are best
