Sheesh. I have a sweet chicken who has a bumble foot. I cut her from the bottom and couldn't find anything. She was already bleeding on top of her foot so I cut into that and couldn't find anything.
So then I put antibiotic ointment on them and wrappedthem . She got 4 days of Duramycin because her leg was starting to swell. Over 3 days of not healing with ointment, she developed an appetite and the swelling went down. I read that I should go to a dry dressing. So I did.
I went to Epsom salt soak (she's such a good girl) , a dash of peroxide, dry off and put a non stick pad on. It looks like the swelling is going down but I feel I'll still have the kernel. Underneath the cut was healing but developed a scab! I've never had a problem like this. The top got a scab, it fell off and the unhealed part is LoTs smaller but still an unhealed part.
I guess I need some guidance. I maybe should wait till the top of the foot heals before I look for a kernel at the bottom? Maybe the soaks are drawing it out? I need to post some pics, I know. I am just lost in what I should do.
