I have read several threads on bumblefoot, I believe I have a RIR hen with it and plan to try the surgery tomorrow. Wanted to make sure I had everything straight before even ATTEMPTING this!!!
Several threads mention soaking in epsom salt water twice a day. How do you actually physically accomplish this? Do a whole pan/small tub and make the chicken sit in it so the foot is underwater? Or is there some way someone has figured out to soak "just the foot"? I can't imagine the chicken sitting still for a "foot soaking", but I have had a couple in the bathtub before in a warm bath and they seem to be OK in there...
I'd rather not get the whole chicken wet if there is a better/neater way. It's going to be messy enough as it is!
