Bumblefoot-treating but have to go on vacation

I re-installed the roosts, they're about 10 inches up with the fresh bedding I put underneath.

It's weird because I've been keeping chickens for over 12 years and no bumblefoot ever, now 2 have it (new batch of chickens, maybe they're more susceptible?).
The roosts are pretty low so that shouldn't be an issue.

Are the birds with bumblefoot heavier breeds? I only find it popping up in my heftier chooks, none of the lighter ones (5 lbs or less) have had issues.

So I looked up many videos and articles about removing bumblefoot but haven't had success in removing the actual kernal. The pictures show the worst of them, the kernal seems to have migrated up (possibly from roosting?) while the bottom of the foot has flattened out. I dug down pretty deeply but still didn't find it...honestly didn't want to dig TOO deeply. I soaked for 10+ minutes in warm water with epsom salts, etc...

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you!

I would continue daily soaks for a while to help with swelling and to get it scabbed over cleanly, and give it a few more weeks before trying again to see if you can get the swelling down and to get any puss to move down closer to the scab for removal.

Thank you, I'll try that.

It's really weird, we've been keeping chickens for 13 years now and with this latch batch, 5 of 6 of them have contracted bumblefoot. None of our others ever have. I checked the roosts and run and absolutely nothing has changed, no splinters or sharp things, it's really weird that this is the first time we're dealing with this.

Are these all heavier breeds? I really favor lighter birds now just so I don't have to deal with bumblefoot, which all my older and heavier birds tend to get.

Yes, they are heavier breeds so that may be it but we also had some heavier breeds last time but they were mixed with smaller breeds. Good to know for next time!
